The Exchange installation detected a Hybrid setup and asked me to insert the user credentials of an Office Admin. So I did just that, I copied the credentials and pasted them into the setup screen, but it told me that the credentials were wrong.
After some research on the Internet, I found the error [ read the forum post ]. If you do this, the installer will tell you that your credentials are wrong. So I had to copy them manually. Close the Print Management console. Open the Group Policy Management Console and locate the new GPO and link it to the domain, site, or organizational unit that contains the desired computers this policy will apply to. Older operating systems must use startup scripts for computers or logon scripts for users and must run the pushprinterconnections.
Locate the pushprinterconnections. Browse to the domain Netlogon share in the Windows Explorer window. Paste the pushprinterconnections.
Open the Group Policy Management Console. Expand the domain and expand the Group Policy Objects container. Expand the Computer Configuration node, expand the Policies node, and expand the Windows Settings node. I selected the option to apply the GPO to the computers rather than the users. The shared printers are still not showing up. I can run test prints on each of the printers from the server which works perfectly. The workstation however, don't.
You haven't mentioned adding pushprinterconnections. You will need this to push printers to XP machines. You can get the file from Windows R2 Admin Tools by downloading pmcmgmt. I think one problem that you might find is that you cant add XP drivers in the Server R2 console. Select teh Drivers tab then Add. Sign up to join this community.
