Restart scheduler windows

So, follow the steps listed below to schedule restart Windows. That is it. From now on, Windows will reboot itself as per the task configuration. Right before restarting, it will show a little message giving any active users a chance to save the work. As you can see, it is pretty easy to do a scheduled restart using the task scheduler tool in Windows. If you want to, you can also display a popup message using a task scheduler right before restarting the system.

As soon as you define the Action , your planned activity should be ready: take a few seconds to check all the settings once again, then click OK to create the task.

If you asked to run the task with elevated privileges the system will ask you to enter the credentials of the Administrator account or the account with administrative privileges you have chosen in the General tab : once done, the result of your work will appear, summarized in a single line, within the Task Scheduler main panel:.

User's post on October 25, Hi Jarius, Thank you for your reply. At that time 2 of my 5 scheduled backup task were triggered conform schedule and the according backups were carried out correctly see the green framed surfaces in the window below I powered-off my PC at and powered it on again at At I made a sreendump of the Task Scheduler window, where was indicated that 3 backup tasks were carried out correctly in the past at about see the green framed surfaces in the window in the picture above.

At I made a screendump again. Now the backup task that were triggered after the first power-on at about , now were not triggered anymore the red framed surfaces in the window and the backup task that were not triggered during the first power-on, were now triggered correctly at about the green framed surfaces in the window. I also made screendumps again at and In both cases the backup tasks triggered during the first power-on at were not triggered anymore and the backup tasks that were not triggered during the first power-on were correctly triggered with the scheduled 1 hour interval.

My conclusion: If my PC is powered-on before the first scheduled backup task, all backup job triggers are carried out conform schedule. After a PC restart the previously triggered backup task are not triggered anymore during the rest of the day. Only backup tasks that were not triggered before the PC restart, are triggered correctly after the PC restart. A manual run of a backup task always result in a correct backup task trigger.

This must be a bug in the Windows Task Scheduler. I hope you will find a solution for this problem. Best regards, Wim. In reply to Wim Spaak's post on October 27, I got no reaction so far.
